Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said, I am impressed, overwhelmed, and proud to visit the Walton factory. Walton is not only a major industrial enterprise in Bangladesh, but has already earned a good reputation in the international world. Very soon, Walton will emerge as a prestigious brand in the global market. He said, the government will provide cash assistance for the export of electronic products.
The Commerce Minister said, "I have heard many names and praises about Walton. Today I saw it with my own eyes. What I saw when I visited the production units of each product is unimaginable. Each unit of Walton is well-organized. Walton is making everything with their talent and labor. They are making the parts and raw materials of the products themselves."
The Commerce Minister made this statement while inaugurating the newly built Walton Refrigerator Glass Door Manufacturing Project, which combines the world's most advanced technology and machineries, c level contact list at Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited in Chandra, Gazipur on Sunday (September 30, 2018).
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed also said, "Walton is not only advancing the country's economy, but also providing employment to a large number of people. Walton factories are currently manufacturing 25 types of products. They are working with the goal of producing 60 types of products."
Earlier on Sunday, the Commerce Minister reached the premises of Walton Hi-Tech Industries in Chandra, Gazipur at 11:30 am. At that time, he was welcomed by Walton Hi-Tech Industries Chairman SM Nurul Alam Rezvi, Vice Chairman SM Shamsul Alam, Managing Director SM Ashraful Alam, Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited Chairman SM Rezaul Alam, Managing Director SM Manjurul Alam and Walton Group Director Raisa Sigma Hima, among others.
Among others present at the event were Walton Executive Directors Humayun Kabir and SM Zahid Hasan, Deputy Executive Director Uday Hakim, Senior Operative Director Golam Morshed, Operative Director Firoz Alam and other senior officials.
Upon reaching the factory complex, the Commerce Minister visited the Walton Product Display Center. After that, he inaugurated the glass door manufacturing project of Walton refrigerators. Later, he visited various production units of Walton refrigerators, compressors, televisions, air conditioners, etc.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries Managing Director SM Ashraful Alam said that the Walton factory complex is spread over 680 acres of land. Product production activities are carried out across 7 million square feet of land. About 20,000 workers from home and abroad, including engineers and technicians, are engaged there.
The Walton factory's glass door project is initially producing 1,000 glass door refrigerators per day. This will soon be increased to 5,000 units per day.
