Gathering Supplies

Post by fomayof928@mowline »

When you're just starting out, you don't need a lot of supplies, but it can be confusing what to buy, especially with the various types of resins you can get. There are casting resins for deep molds, finishing resins for coating artwork, and art resins for general use like pouring paintings. Then there are the many different brands that sell resins, and the wide variety of prices. It can really be confusing at first. Aside from the pour paintings I made in the Resin Art Studio, the first things I made with resin were coasters.

I think coasters are the perfect starter project for someone who wants to estonia phone number example try out resin. They are also a great thing to make if you have extra resin from an artwork and then you can use the coaster mold to work with any excess resin.

Another beginner project I recommend is a bookmark. Both coasters and bookmark silicone molds are cheap and can be easily purchased from Amazon or Temu, depending on which works best for you.

.I have so many coasters and bookmarks in my art lab that it borders on absurd

What I like about coasters and bookmarks is that they are small enough that if you make a mistake you don’t waste too much resin, but large enough to experiment and see what effects a resin technique or color mix will produce.
